The beginning of February, 2021, witnessed an historical event taking shape – the first mass vaccination site co-operated by state, federal and joint military forces.
The first anniversary of the coronavirus pandemic rapidly approached and the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) joined with FEMA in a unified command, and had less than 10 days to bring this “mega-vax” site to life.
In the video below, some Cal OES members talk candidly about what it was like to pull the site together, some of the keys to success and their own personal thoughts about being part of something so important.
